The region also offers something for wine and vine lovers as the Côte is the largest wine region in the canton of Vaud. The wines of the Côte offer a great diversity with 24 different grape varieties. The region is notably known for being the cradle of the unavoidable Chasselas and for its production of fruity rosés and delicate reds thanks to the Pinot noir and Gamay grapes.
The Route du Vignoble, which is more than 50 kilometers long, links several wine-producing villages where many local winegrowers open their doors to share their knowledge of wine and their love of the profession. In the different villages such as Féchy, Bursins or Echichens, some of the most renowned winegrowing families in Switzerland welcome their visitors in authentic cellars for a tasting of exceptional wines.
Thanks to a SmartPhone application, a fun wine tour takes you on a journey of discovery of the region's artisans and winemakers, following an itinerary filled with questions and fascinating anecdotes.
